TCA BIPOC Grant Application

One of TCA’s organizational goals is to expand engagement and leadership opportunities across TCA for professional counselors who also identify as Black, Indigenous, or People of Color (BIPOC). A systematic procedure has been developed to award BIPOC grants to TCA students and new professional members to support diversity and inclusiveness in TCA leadership.

Purpose: To provide one-time BIPOC grants of up to $500 to student or new professional members of the association. These funds are explicitly intended for use to support expenses associated with attending TCA’s Annual Professional Growth Conference.

Requirements:

  • Applicant must be a continuous and current BIPOC TCA Student or New Professional member.
  • Applicant must not have received a BIPOC or EEF within the last 12 months.
  • Complimentary conference registrations will be given in lieu of cash grants.
  • Student and New Professional Applicants must be registered either full or part time in a Master’s or Doctoral counseling program or licensed as an LPC Associate.
  • Applicants may not be working a total of more than 30 hours per week in a paid position.
  • Funds must be applied to expenses associated with attending the TCA Professional Growth Conference in-person.
  • Grant recipients who do not attend the TCA Professional Growth Conference must return the entire grant award to TCA.
  • Conference registrations already paid at time of grant will not be refunded.
  • Applicants must provide a short essay or video describing their Conference experience to be published at TCA’s discretion.

Process:

  • Applicants must complete and submit the application by Monday, September 21, 2026
  • TCA Equity & Inclusion Committee will review the applications to select recipients and determine grant amounts.
  • Applicant will be notified of grant awards as quickly as possible.
  • The decisions of the Equity and Inclusion Committee are final.

If I receive this grant award, I agree to adhere to the purposes and use of funds as detailed above. I agree to provide the required documentation on the actual use and outcome of this activity to the Equity & Inclusion Committee within (6) months of receipt of the grant funds. I also understand that I may not reapply for an EEF or BIPOC grant for a period of one (1) year.
